well I played about an hour so far and SO FAR the game is pretty “meh”…
Honestly this video sums it up:
It feels too much like other games so far. The reason I liked motorstorm was because of the TRUCKS, mud and greenery. This game so far is too much about cars and black top and streets. If I wanted to race on streets in an urban environment I would play need for speed, ridge racer or split second or blur …burnout… or you get my point…. on top of that they totally rip split second with the environmental effects… so far Im just like ok

It seems to loose the offroad flavor that made it different in exchange for the street vibe that so many other games have. This is just my initial thoughts so hopefully this changes…

well its not a bad game. just feels “samesy”
They did add alot of improvements like the photo finish slowdown at the end of races. In game achievement progress like in halo, the graphics are way more detailed. I like the way you still can control your vehicle while it slows down for an event.
And I think I just got past the super easy part so the last track I played was a bit more fun than the super easy first ones that were very simple. We’ll see. it is quality but it will take more playing to see.
been playing more and i dont know man. I am not in love with it at all. I dont dislike it… I see whats great about it but the whole concrete city shit just feels off putting for a series that I liked because of mud. The graphics are great even in 3d there is like no difference worth mentioning from the non 3d. technically and graphically the game is a BEAST! But it feels like they dumbed it down and the game was made for teenagers which is cool but not for me. The game and cars are more cell shaded in style and cartoony than the last and the fact that you cant go back and redo campaign shit is annoying.
Maybe i was just doomed to not like this because i didnt want a street motorstorm game. the whole apocalypse shit just seems to scream lack of creativity. Like some one was in a board room and said… “yeah lets make it like mad max!… yeah like mad max and split second had a bastard child.”

What do you mean you can’t go back and do campaign shit? The races get unlocked as you finish them which let’s you go back and race them again to get better positions and to collect any of the cards that you may have missed.
I can see where you’re coming from, but I love it.
Level design is still fantastic, vehicles were tweaked fir the better. Great graphics. Great online. Couldn’t ask for more really, well apart from Pacific Rift tracks being made available as DLC.Twitter.com/scatigno1

I can ask for some dirt, better art style, less cheezy ass interludes, smaller button prompts… grass, trees, bushes, mud, water… less fucking cars more trucks

I dont know…. in this game its more like I am racing against the track more than I am racing against other racers. seems off. ill play some more tonight though.
