In what may be a case of press that was too good to be true with all the fantastic reviews of BioShock now comes revelations and discoveries that the game does not feature true widescreen support. As you can see above the red area is shown on normal 4:3 TV’s and not on 16:9 widescreens which means that widescreens actually show less of the game and not more as they should.
The first thing I thought was “oh shit you got to be kidding me” and whether its a case of development budget issues or lazy developers the fact as it stands now is that instead of expanding the view to the left and right in widescreen mode the game actually cuts off the top of the game actually showing less vertically for widescreen viewers. Punishment for having supreme gadgetry. They fucked up for reals.
The BioShock developers NEED to get with the hams working on the Streetfighter II Turbo HD Remix ASAP and learn them on how to fake some widescreen support. Thanks!
