Ok, so a few days ago I finally made it to check out the “King of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters” movie. Yes, the movie does live up to the hype and great reviews it has received. What I found that made the movie so entertaining was the fact that it is a true story and its just plain funny.
In the theater there were people of all ages, genders and races and they were all excited about seeing the film. This also furthered recent feelings I have had about how at this point the interest in video games spans such a wide base of people. There were a whole group of ladies (a few of them hot lol) in their mid 20’s who sat behind me who to my surprise are into video games who pulled out there Nintendo DS(es) and started playing each other and talking about PS3 prices until the previews started. I think that took me by surprise a bit but then after thinking about it we all kind of grew up around 8-Bit or 16-bit games and fuck it games are fun.
So yes, I say go see the movie its worth you money, you will laugh at the serious absurdity of it all. You will feel like much much less of a nerd for liking video games after the movie. This I guarantee. So just go. And if you hate it, you suck.
