Dayum, ye he can be a toughie. I lured him out into the Courtyard to give myself room. I also killed the Titanite Demon too, clearing the path to the Darkroot Garden. Level 29.

Talon, did you manage to get the Drake Sword from the Dragon on the bridge yet? It’s pretty decent.
I’m trying to level up my Magic and Attunement a bit right now. I need an extra Attunement slot to carry more spells. I’m trying to take out the Moonlight Butterfly within the Darkroot Garden, but the Soul Arrows I am carrying just aren’t cutting it. I lost 6000 Souls on that bitch! So I need to get some Heavy Soul Arrows.
Also, the Sleeping Knights that are guarding the area up to her are also guarding the Elite Armour, which is what I’m wearing in the Screenshot. The Knight Shield I am also using in the Screenshot was acquired near the Church in the Undead Parish, guarded by a Knight.

The game feels a lot more forgiving to me than Demon’s Souls was. Then again, I have read of people putting in over 80 hours into the game and I’m currently around 22 hours in, so I’m expecting it to get a lot more difficult, because at this point it’s not that bad. Some of the Demon’s I have been able to take out with one try.
I think i’m enjoying this game a whole lot more. Maybe it’s got something to do with the fact that it is open world and I’m constantly finding new areas and secrets and the environments are a lot more varied, I dunno, but it is a great game, and it’s definitely a game I couldn’t just rent. It deserves to be in your collection and support developers like From Software who dare to be different and take risks.
In Demon’s Souls I hit a brick wall where It was just impossible for me to progress without grinding for hours upon hours. 22 hours into Dark Souls and I have not yet hit that brick wall.

1) If you’re a medieval history buff…I totally get it
2) If you’re really into fantasy and shit…I get that too
3) If you find getting kicked in the plums repeatedly to be fun and recreational then I could see how you’d like this game…but who likes getting kicked in the plums?

Chances are you went in the wrong direction and ended up in an area you wasn’t ready for, unless you are struggling on the tutorial which was piss easy.
Anyway, maybe you should check out my beginners guide if you are having problems.

I see the appeal of the game but it’s not for me. I’m too casual of a gamer to invest the time necessary into this game that will allow me to reap the benefit of it. It looks cool but I’ve already sent it back to Gamefly. Come Tuesday when Batman comes out there is no way I’d be playing that game. You know what they say though…one mans trash is another mans treasure!
