An apparent slip of the tongue from a Naughty Dog developer on the playstation forums has confirmed the imminent release of cross game chat on the PS3 with the next firmware update. Kotaku caught wind of this and reported it. The Naughty Dog developer was apparently responding to requests by players to include enemy spectating in Uncharted 2, which would make cross game chat unfair. He went on to say:
“But I will suggest it anyway, Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions.”
The post however was quickly deleted which has fueled speculation that it is legit. Well i guess we will just have to wait for the inevitable official announcement from Sony.
