Killzone 2 – GC 2008 Round Up, New Screens

Here is the impressions roundup and some new screens of Killzone 2 from the GC 2008 convention last week in Germany. Killzone 2 is looking good. The jury on whether Killzone 2 is the PS3 answer to Halo is still out.

IGN: “I was truthfully shocked at how close the multiplayer portion of the game looks like the incredibly vivid single-player we’ve seen so much of before. Every little detail seems reflected in the multiplayer.”

Joystiq: “It remains to be seen if Killzone 2 can trump Resistance 2’s 60-player online battles or Call of Duty 4’s stranglehold on gamer’s multiplayer time, but Guerilla is putting up quite a fight.”

GamePro: “Killzone 2 is doing so many inventive things on the online side that it’s looking like the “kitchen sink” multiplayer experience. It feels like Call of Duty 4 mixed with elements of Halo and Battlefield games. Guerrilla Games really seems to get the online innovation thing, implementing tons of clan and tournament features, not to mention the option to customize each game to play exactly how you want it to. Shooter fans should really start getting excited about it now, though I think many of you have been waiting almost four years for this to drop. We’re almost there!”
