Here are some tips and tricks for Wipeout HD. use these tips to collect all the trophy’s and win some races! These are a collection of tips and tricks from various sites.
RACE START SPEED BOOST:
– To get a boost at the beginning of the race. Do not hit or press the acceleration button at all (not even once) until the start countdown is at “0” (when the announcer says “GO!”)SPEED TIPS:
– Acceleration button (“X” by default) is pressure sensitive so set it to 10% sensitivity. This way, the buttons behave (almost) digitally, so you won’t need to press much at all for full acceleration.– When you have a boost available to you’re ship, time its use with the boost pads (especially double boost pads) for extra acceleration
– On speed lap events, if you save your boost till just before you cross the start/finish live you get a nice boost just as you start your next lap.
– When you use Pilot Assist, it caps your speed at 90%. So dont use it,
– Barrel rolls help A LOT. They provide a speed boost upon landing so use them and master them.
TURNING TIPS:
– Try setting the air brake to 10% sensitivity. This way, the buttons behave (almost) digitally, so you don’t have to press them very hard to get the full effect. Also try 70% if you like the pressure sensitive aspect.
– Most turns don’t require the use of air brakes, learn the right lines to take into corners

– Use the rear view when you can, if there are a number of ships directly behind you be prepared to use shields if you have them available.
– If your low on energy ABSORB pickups and add energy to your shield.

The backwards stages actually do play very different from a strategy standpoint. I cant wait until some new maps come out regardless.
Lets get some more multiplayer races going. Are you ready Talon? LOL

aye i beat you in one of the games tho, and considering that i just started playing wipeout you better you scare yo cuz I can only get better after giving you a run for your money
dude you didnt give me a run. LOL you won one race out of like 15. I will give you that race because you shot me with a missile and knocked me off the platform and I was like OH SHIT and I laughed because it was a nice nice move. WELL DONE! But 1 out of 15 races still sucks… but theres hope.
