It’s not the best event they could have brought to Manchester but I guess it’s better than nothing considering I couldn’t afford to get down to London for the Eurogamer Expo. Whereas this one is being held right next to Manchester City’s Stadium which is a 5 minute drive from my house.

So I went to that Playstation Access event today. It was pretty good, although most of the games you were able to play I already have played or own bar a few. The games were:
Fifa 12
Dark Souls
Uncharted 3 Multiplayer (Tourney)
Assassins Creed Revalations Multiplayer (Tourney)
Resistance 3, Sharpshooter included
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
God of War: Ghost of Sparta (3D)

StarhawkSo ye, not that much for me, although I took my little cousin with me and he enjoyed it a lot more, coz it was the first time he was playing any of the games other than Fifa.
Oh, they also had those Personal 3D Viewer Visor things you could try out. Pretty sick I must say. It actually felt like you were in the Cinema hahaha! but they apparently will be retailing for about £800 and they were quite heavy and got rather uncomfortable quite quickly.
Playing the Ghost of Sparta game in 3D made me realise that I must own a 3D TV soon.
I entered the Uncharted Tourney and took 2nd.
I also entered the Fifa Interactive World Cup Tourney, which is like the biggest Fifa tourney in the world. Anyway, the winner from the event gets invited to the Live UK Qualifers. I got eliminated in the 2nd round, by my own fucking cousin using Barcelona (best team on the game) lol, but then he lost in the Quarter Finals. My first Tourney experience though and I enjoyed it.
The best bit about the day was probably the free drinks, my cousin was hitting the cans of coke all day and I was on those Buddweisers. Free shit FTW!!!!

I hope the Toronto one will more new games than that.
Last years was really awesome. It had Killzone 3, inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, S.O.C.O.M, Assassin Creed Brotherhood (multiplayer), Vanqusihed, Sonic 4, Virtual Tennis 4 in 3D, Time Crisis and more.
Hoping this event on Wednesday lives up to expectation of last year.
Last year all they had was free pop. Also got a dumb Modnation Racer t-shirt and this stupid PSN cube.War.

This PS3 event better come with some unreleased heat tomorrow.
Like last year. I will be really disappointed if it comes with alot of stuff I already played.

So I got back from the Playstation Holiday Preview.
First off the damn music was to loud.
I dont want to hear Lil Wayne or Party Rock I wanna listen to what Nate or Scully have to say. I wanna hear the soundtrack to the different games. But enough with me bitching.
First of I played Uncharted 3. Wanted to get the big stuff out of the way first. So this is the level I played.They also had the cargo plane level. With Uncharted 3 it is what I expect nothing less or more. Game is going to be fantastic. Looked great played great. Cant wait for it.
Next I checked out the PSVita and was a bit disappointed. But it all has to do with the game I was put on. They had LittleBigPlanet, something Escape game, another title that I cant remember and Sound Shapes the game I played.
Its not a bad game but I wanted Uncharted,or LBP, I would of even settled for Wipeout. The game was simple and relaxing, You rolled around collect circles which created music. I Created a basic level in the game and it was cool expending the items using the touch controls on the back of the device. Since it has a touch screen as well it was easy to create the level. Lots of different instrument are available to do music with. Weight was great very light. At the end I got sticker put on me saying “I touched a PSVita” wore that like a badge of honor.
Next was the Street Fighter X Tekken. Took some footage of that. That will be up later. I couldnt enjoy it. I never played Tekken or Street Fighter with a PS3 controller and it was just uncomfortable. Never played Tekken so I didnt even know who to pick so I went with a SF Team with Sagat and Ken. Also I havent been following the game much and I didnt know that you are allowed only one K.O. on your team not both fighters. Lastly I didnt know how to change between the fighters. Lost the match 2 rounds to 1.
Capcom also had Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom but I skipped that.Played a few minutes of Rage and jumped off. Wasnt impressed with it. Didnt look or feel fun. I will probably rent this since I am interested in this game but the part I was on didn’t catch my interest plus I wanted to play some unreleased stuff.
Next was probably my game of the evening. Journey. Environments are plain for the most part but look amazing. While playing this it reminded me of Flower. Funny cause when I looked it up it was the same producer. Really confused on what it is going on. But bring back cloth to life like video said. Wished I was part of the Beta which happened months ago. I am picking this up day 1.
I tried that personal 3D viewer. Didn’t care for it. I just couldnt focus playing a video game with it on. I played MotorStorm with it on. I kept crashing and wasnt focusing on the bottom of the screen which meant I was screwing up.
I think thats about it.

A least compare it to a game that’s not geared towards little kids.
I don’t look at reviews to decide whether or not I will like the game. The game has flaws yeah but I find it very fun. You should know by now that I am a big fan of almost anything that has to do with zombies. So it was expected that I would like this game.
Gears of war was 90 something on metacritic and I hated that game. So reviews are not going to effect my opinion of which games I am going to love/hate.War.

Ye man, stop hating. People’s opinions differ. Who cares if we don’t all like the same games. You and Brook didn’t like Heavy Rain because it wasn’t your type of game, not because it was a bad game. Same as I don’t like Vanquish or Wipeout, not because they are bad games, but because they are just not for me.
I’d find this a pretty boring site to come to if everyone liked and hated the same shit with no diversity and difference of opinion.
