So I finally got the game today and played it for a couple of hours and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with it. Honestly it’s probably my favourite racing game since Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and also the most fun to play, and if I had played it in 2010 then it would have been my Racing game of the year instead of GT5 lol.

The Autolog feature is awesome and Brook I understand what you mean when you say that it’s the future and that more games going forward need to implement it. It’s such a simple idea that promotes massive competitiveness.

The graphics are gorgeous, cars handle really well, and the crashes are also awesome, even better when you narrowly miss one but see two of your competitors colliding then you leave them in the dust lol.

I’m quite surprised that we didn’t have an official thread on here anyway, and I hope to get some races in with you guys, starting tonight if anyone is up for it? I can definately see this seeing me through until the release of Motorstorm: Apocalypse.

So ye, glad I finally got to play it after all this time, because it hasn’t disappointed yet

one thing that kind of sucks are the in game cutscenes when something goes down. Its kind of annoying sometimes. When you cause someone to crash for example and it shows the crash animation then goes back to you. I wish that could be turned off. In burnout it was ok I guess becuase that game was about crashing tons more but in need for speed it seems off putting to me.

I was playing online last night in Hot Pursuit mode and it was soooooo much fun.
So basically if you are the playing as a racer then it’s last one standing so as you come to the end and all other players have been eliminated it’s just you and the coppers and shit becomes hectic and it definately becomes really intense. Damn why aren’t more people playing this? Did I come late to the party or something? It only came out in November lol.

I’m loving this game. I know what you mean Brook about the cut scenes. It can fuck up your rythum. Another slight irritant is the music. When you have to do the time trails over & over, some of the music grates on me. I had to hook my ipod up through my xbox.

I’ve only played Career mode as Police so far. I might get online & play what you were talking about Scat. Thats sounds a lot of fun.

I’m on PS3, the music is not a problem for me because the game supports custom soundtracks, online as well which is awesome.

Ye Brook I don’t really agree with what you said about the lack of location variety in this game, I mean you got

Beaches
Deserts
Forests
Snowy mountains
Highways
Built up areas
Caves
Tunnels

I’m not sure what more you could ask for, it’s all there and it all looks great too.

Also I just checked one of the events and it took you 19 attempts to achieve the time you got, I beat it on my 2nd

Seriously though man check out the Cop campaign, its alot of fun.

Dude that’s because the roads are connected. If you look at the route on the map you will see that some events cross over with the routes from other events. So yes it will look similar but you still get the variety, plus the weather effects help switch things up too.

well GT5 came out right after I got it and with the other games I been playing I have not gotten back into it. it did come out like 2-3 months ago lol trying to beat ME2 now.

I’ve put in more than 11 hours into this game. Loving it, only problem is i’m neglecting The Saboteur now lol, so I might have to leave this one alone for a bit.
