Ok. I pick Mortal Kombat even though it got worse ever since it hit the PS2/Xbox etc. The old ones on Sega/SNES are classic. I stopped playing Street Fighter after Street Fighter II Alpha.

mk has turned from a 2d side scroller to a 3d fighting game

whilst street fighter has dominated the arcade scene while sticking true to its side scrolling roots?

I don’t like how you have to get the commands exactly right. That’s what makes Tekken so fun. You can make up a variation of combos without doing the set 10 hit combos for each character. It’s freestyle, which makes it more fun and challenging in my opinion. After Mortal Kombat 4, the fun was taken out of the game to me. The fatalities are funny/nice. Backgrounds too, but the fighting portion gets on my nerves. If I play it, it would be at a friends house.

hmm, i see. but then again the fun in mortal kombat for me has always been mastering those hard ass combos and using them. but too each his own:^:
