Stephen Totilo over at the MTV Multiplayer blog just may have blew the lid off of something big. According to his report Sony “applies a 16-cent charge to every Gigabyte of content downloaded from the PS3’s PSN online store.” This may not seem like much but consider that if a million one Gigabyte sized demos are downloaded the cost would well reach over $100,000. I guess this may explain why some demos mysteriously may appear on Xbox Live and not PSN.

Still do not make sense. How can you have it in the Euro store and not the North America store.

I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. No people this is a fairly recent policy shift. DLC and demos don’t show up on PSN for other reasons. DLC for Fallout 3 may never show up on the PS3 because Bethesda and Sony don’t have the best of working relationships. As far as demos go, Sony doesn’t require it from developers, so they don’t always work on the PS3 version of demos.

This is just a new way Sony is shooting themselves in the foot. Hopefully, all of this press about it will make them change it, but not likely. MS takes a fairly large chunk out of what each developer sells DLC for.

Oh I know how little we get when it comes to PSone games. I’d say we generally get more demos and DLC in NA, but as far as PSone games go, Japan’s store is crazy compared to everyone’s. That has more to do with the fact that each region gets to do what they want. So, you’ll rarely see consistency among the different stores.

nah man seriously, europe is really lacking with the PSone classics.
I much prefer the NA store over ours.
You got games like Tekken 2, Spyro and Castlevania, and we get Theme Hospital, Hercules and The Little Mermaid. The best game we got over you at the moment is Silent Hill.
Other than that there really isn’t much to brag about.
I just can’t believe how many good games the jap store has. They got all the resident evils and i’m sure i read somewhere they even got Metal Gear Solid.
