Man i have just been to one of those shops where they unlock phones and shit, and someone had brought in a 360 and the guy was in the middle of taking it apart.
He took off the covers and believe me, you have never seen so much dirst and dust. It was unbelievable. You couldn’t even see the fans because of how much dust there was. It was all over. I actually felt sick just looking at it.
I was thinking how could anyone let their shit get into such a state. It can’t be that hard to keep your system ventilated.
I’m about to get the Vac out on mine right now.
You know what else. The person who brought it in didn’t have a problem with it overheating as you might expect from all the dirt and dust, no, she brought it in coz it had a faulty disc drive lol.

I live in a basement without a proper roof, so my shit is probably full of dust, I’ve never cleaned it off…I always figured the fans blow air out so how could you get dust inside? and I’ve never seen dust on the outside of my box..
So basically you’re saying there could be tons of dust inside my xbox? could it cause a problem? I’ve never really had a problem with mine and have never cleaned it…

yes it could be full of dust inside. Thats why it’s important to keep it ventilated and in a somewhat dust free area.
It’s not hard to open up a 360. Taking out the screws is piss easy so if you want to check then i’d suggest you do that and then get the vaccum on it.

I think that not having my 360 in a dust free area (like in a box type of area, in a case, in a drawer/dresser/entertainment center) is why it has never had any problems…Because it never overheats it is well ventilated. But it gets really dusty down here…So I guess I should try to open it up, since my warranty is up already anyways (this is a launch console that has only ever had one problem, HDD got defected, but no issues with the box itself). Also though, the reason I’ve had no issues could be because it gets freezing down in this basement
How do you reccomend opening it up? (im worried about breaking it or messing something up when I try opening it, and i have no money right now to replace it so yea..)
