So the worst kept secret in the history of videogames has finally been confirmed.

The PS3 Slim is finally a reality.

It goes on sale the first week of september and will cost $299 / £299

It is the same design as the current PS3 but just alot slimmer (no shit lol)

It has the same functions and features, comes with a 120GB hard drive, has 34% less power consumption and is also 34% lighter.

I wish they would release a PS3 with a smaller hard drive at a reduced price. I really want to buy one, but £300 is too expensive. The slim one looks nice like.

Now, if it had backwards compatability and everything else they took out of the 60GB SKU, then i would gladly trade in my current PS3 for this.

It’s not actually called the PS3 Slim, just plain old PS3

I almost bought a PS3 today. I was getting it on interest free credit, but they didn’t have the package instock. It was a PS3, a game (I forgot the name of the game – not a game I’d heard of) & all the online stuff (Wireless headset, USB hub, + some other things).

So it looks like the PS3 Slim has helped Sonys sales over in Japan.
Within 4 days of the Slim going on sale the PS3 sold 150,832 units, out of that number 150,252 were Slim units.
Lets hope sony can keep this momentum going.
