Talks was in works to bring it back as a retro game but Rare don’t know if they was goin’ to do it exclusively for the Virtual Console (Nintendo Wii) which would cost 800 points (roughly $
or to the 360 as an Arcade port (400 points = $5 or 800 points = $10)…….. sources say that there a good chance of Rare just bringing it back as Retro Game fo Nintendo because they have 007 Golden Eye in the works for the virtual console and had redone Diddy Kong Racing for the Nintendo DS……… but Diddy Kong is property of Nintendo and Killer Instinct is a property of Rare and Rare have sign a contract with Microsoft for some odd amount of yearsI do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. I am a "STORY" to my peers, a "LEGEND" for your kids to hear, and a "FOLKLORE" to keep you from dieing with fear - [b]Calvin D. 11/19/2007 at 2:20 pm #19387Okay everybody my take on Killer Instinct. I believe the first one was great but the second one was crushing it. I hate the fact on the Killer Instinct (KI for now on), you had to do the combo starter to do a combo. On Killer Instinct 2 (KI 2 for now on), you can run into battle with a manual combo or an auto combo (which was the combo starter if you don’t know). The first one ran smoother by game play but lack the graphics on the SNES. The Arcade was a different matter people popping mad tokens/quarters just to get there ass beat. KI 2 wasn’t a hit like Nintendo thought it would be. They focus on to much on the graphics meter and not bout the game play. Sure they let the manual combo come out to play but the game came out during I think the Generation 5 era (Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation, and Nintendo 64 “Note Atari 64 was a piece of shit and I ‘m not letting be involved with any Generation in my eyes”). So Token/Quarter popping was almost dead in the States but not in Japan. I wish that era never happen we could be seeing what the next Generation be against.

07/22/2008 at 12:36 pm #26368The reason RARE remade Diddy Kong Racing for the NintendoDS is because it would earn them cash, in the same way that Microsoft are allowing them to mak a Viva Pinata title for the NintendoDS and THQ do an Age of Empires title a couple of years ago. GoldenEye 007 is in-development for Wii’s Virtual Console, but also for XboxLIVE! Arcade as, and this is where it gets complicated, Activions now own the rights to the Bond licence, Nintendo own the rights to the game and RARE claim royalties for the design. So, an agreement has had to have been reached between Nintendo, Activision, RARE and Microsoft for work to go ahead. Rumour is that it’s actually been finished for a while, and there’s just the legal jargon to get through.
On the fact of Killer Instinct? I’m sorry, but I can’t see it happening. Microsoft simply won’t view it as a valuable enough IP to have RARE working on. Another rumour here is that RARE had all but finished an ealry GameCube prototype when the original selling and buying of the developer on behalf of Nintendo and Microsoft occured.
