So while my internet has been out I’ve been playing Forza 3 which I rented recently and I have to say…this game is GREAT!!! Next to Mario Kart Wii which is my favorite racing game this game is number 2. Its more of a sim than an arcade style racer but the game is so fun and the variety keeps you coming back for more. I might have to buy this game soon and also invest in the XBox steering wheel. Does anyone else on the site have Forza 3???
I have it at home from gamefly. I have not popped it in yet though. Will do that tonight. I remember hating forza 3 at e3 but I also hated ninja gaiden sigma, and batman arkham at e3 lol
I have been playing Midnight club LA and like it much more than when I first tried it.
Cool…we can get some races in this weekend when my internet gets back up. I’m telling you this game is DOPE. I liked Midnight Club too a lot more than I liked Burnout Paradise actually.
Ok. Well I played a lot of Forza 3 last night. I played through three tournaments and won the first championship. Its a GREAT looking game. Visually the minimalist clean style is nice and up my alley. Kind of like mirrors edge. The music is great also. Kind of that techno, dance pop.
The driving to me feels good but over all that style of racing game to me is just much too boring. After playing the burnouts and midnight clubs where there’s traffic and cars on the side of the road and having to dip though traffic and jumping on the highway and dipping in highway traffic during a race its hard to go back to the race track games like Forza 3 and Ridge Racer.
The driving in Forza 3 feels responsive and the cars handle superb but the whole going around the track shit is still lame to me. The scenery does look great but in my opinion it just cannot compare to the rush I get when racing in Burnout Paradise or even Midnight Club LA.
I think Burnout still has the best overall experience. Its just more “fun”… the ramps and jumps the ramming people off the road and all that. I also been playing Midnight Club LA a lot recently and I think that game does straight RACING better than Burnout though and it has real cars which is sweet.
The markers in the road in Midnight Club telling you which way to go is a SUPERB mechanic. I think the only things burnout would have needed are real cars and a easier way for noobs to know which streets to turn down in races.
So after playing it ill still say my favorite racing games are:
Burnout Paradise / Motorstorm Pacific Rift (Tie)
Midnight Club
Ridge Racer 7/ Forza 3 (tie)

What? dirt? Get on that Motorstorm PR. Your playing racing games no one else has cuz your tired of getting owned. LMAO. But yo I took your advice and I ordered a steering wheel for ps3… all the games I have support the wheels. Plus Gran tursimo will be ps3. Motorstorm PR, burnout, ridge racer, midnight club all support wheels. Owning Scat in motorstorm got me back on it. I found the Logitech GT wheel for like $67 and said fuk it.
