so outta no where, i turned on my xbox the other day and its just not working like it was the day before, it wouldnt download anything i bought and when i turned it on it stayed on that xbox logo screen for over a minute (usually it takes like 5 seconds). then it went past that screen to the main screen with the windows, it said 0 profiles found, 15 seconds later 1 profile found, 15 seconds later 2 profiles found, etc up to the 7 profiles that are on my xbox, i clicked my profile and it slowly signed me onto xbox live.
nothing was working right it was all slowed down, so i shut it off to let it cool down for awhile, then when i turned it back on the third light was red, i messed with the wires and got em all in good and it worked, but its still running slow, any idea how i could fix it ?

and how is it a hardware failure but when i play games it works fine, its just the windows and the login process and shit when i first turn it on, but when i put a game in and play a game it still works…
stuff is still working on it, i put a CD in and it plays fine, games play fine, movies are playing fine, just cant download anything and the windows and stuff is going/loading slow.
its really weird
the red ring was gone, then i turned it off for awhile and it was back again, so i reset it and it was gone again lol…

…I called the other night and after 2 hours on the phone the spanish lady (who I could barely understand) says: “we’re sorry but your warrant is up, my reccomend u go get new harddrive that fix your problem”. then she said “thank you have a good night” and hung up.
So. I should just go buy a new hard drive? but how do I get my profile from my old harddrive onto the new one, should I delete it off my old HD and then recover it on the new one? will i still have my gamerscore and my microsoft points on there and downloads?
I just got off the phone with them again and got some dude and he said the same shit, that its my harddrive and that I should get a new one and they cant help me because my warranty is up…
fucking sucks i gotta waste the money i was gonna use for new games and xbox live subscription on a harddrive

save it and get a transfer cable…so ur not starting over in all ur games
my xbox live been fuckin up…its startin to say my net aint fast enough to connect, but Ive had the same fastest DSL you can buy for a year now and never had problems….my connection always perfect in games…so i dunno wtf

Lol yeah Live was having lots of problems for a lot of people. But my harddrive is broken, but at the same time it still works, I just have to start it, shut it off, take out harddrive, put harddrive back in, turn on and then it works fine. Think I’m gonna replace the harddrive anyways but yeah the reasons my downloads weren’t working I’m guessing was because Live was having issues at the time.
