In terms of sales then they probably will win, but they won’t win the war on quality if they insist on releasing copious amounts of shovelware onto their system. I don’t want to pay £300+ for a system just to have a Mario and a Zelda game. They need to put out top quality titles on a regular basis. They need new AAA IP’s that they market in the right way. The Wii may have sold over 80+ million units, but how many of them are probably sat on the shelf collecting dust or just used for fitness and party games?
It’s going to be interesting to see how they adapt into the HD era.
