Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days does a lot of things well visually. When you take damage the visuals shift into a mode that looks like your looking at the game through a security cam recording or handicam. Its a very interesting and unique style choice. The characters also have a very nice art style though the combat is where the game fell apart for me. The guns I used had too much recoil. I dont mind a bit of recoil but in the demo I played it was a bit extreme and I did not find it fun at all. With that said I struggled with the shooting which should be the best part of the game. The other thing that bothered me about what I played of it was the jarring visual effects that occur when you enter the running animation. Going into a run or sprint felt jarring was not smooth at all and was off putting. Between the recoil shooting issues and the running issues I voluntarily put down Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days which is a shame because there seems to be a lot of good design choices there. Seems like a solid rental for sure but my time with it left me skeptical.
