In an interesting turn of events, Disney the home of Mickey Mouse will be buying Marvel in a shares and cash deal valued at $4 Billion dollars. Yes, the Marvel which is home to Marvel Comics and includes Iron Man, Spiderman among countless others.
“Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses,” said Marvel chief executive Ike Perlmutter.
If this deal goes through it will be very interesting to see how this will effect future Marvel video games (Marvel vs Capcom 3 please Capcom) and movies. My worst fear would be if future movies and games are required to be too family friendly under a Disney owned Marvel.
