Two of the greatest ever games to grace the PSone will be hitting the North American PlayStation Store this Thursday 10/22/09. Abe’s Odyssey and Abe’s Exodus will both be priced at $9.99.
Abe’s Odyssey centers on the titular Abe, a Mudokon slave working at the RuptureFarms meat processing factory on Oddworld. When he discovers that he and his friends face death at the hands of their desperate master, he decides to escape and aid as many enslaved Mudokons as he can along the way. The player assumes the role of Abe, and must escape from the factory before embarking on a perilous quest to restore his once noble people.
Abe’s Exodus continues the story of Abe, charting his efforts to save his fellow Mudokons from another plot by the Glukkons to exploit them. Abe discovers that the Glukkons are enslaving Mudokon slaves, this time to produce a drink called Soulstorm Brew, which uses Mudokon bones and tears as its ingredients. The player assumes the role of Abe, embarking on a quest to halt production of Soulstorm Brew.
Both games both recieved rave reviews when they were first released and for good reason too. If you never had the chance to play them back in the day then now is the time. Do not sleep on these ones. Just too bad it won’t be coming to the UK yet again.
