The VGA awards were pretty pointless in my opinion. It was like one HUGE commercial… no… it was like all the mini product plugs formed to make one HUGE commercial like Voltron or some shit. They actually skipped the announcement of many important award categories (like best action game) and yet made us sit through awful Kid Rock and Foo Fighters performances. Also noted that there were no Hip-Hop performances yet they were sure to point out that Chingy in all his wackness was “thurr” in the building.
Now dont get me wrong. I like Spike TV and I also like GameTrailers. I do Watch Game Head online. Spike has Afro Samurai which is pure hotness but the game awards was far too commercial. All the hosts were from upcoming movies (that were advertised during the awards) and I just dont see the point or why anyone needed to see it to get a pulse on whats up in the industry. We already know the hottest games of the year. Websites do a far better job of keeping you abreast of the top releases. Unless the awards show has the Itagaki’s, Myamoto’s, Reggies, Kojima’s to accept them consider me uninterested. If I want to see upcoming game trailers ill go to Gametrailers.com and if I want corny jokes I will watch SNL.
