Konami has just released a demo for the upcoming PSP installment of the Metal Gear Solid series. This game entitled Peace Walker is supposed to be a full Metal gear Solid game. The demo is pretty meaty with at least four playable missions and tons of other options and settings to toy with. The graphics are top notch. This Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker demo has the best graphics I have ever seen on the PSP. It is a gorgeous hand held experience and things are looking up for Metal Gear fans waiting on this portable installment. This is no Acid or Portable Ops game. This demo looks great plays great and feels like a true full Metal gear Solid game.
The controls have been greatly refined since Portable ops for example. The controls feel much tighter and more akin to Metal Gear Solid 4 then the other portable games in the series.
The menus have been redesigned and are very sleek and functional.
The demo gives a peek at some of the weapons and uniforms you will be able to select. Its seems to hint at the variation of missions and that some will be more stealth based than others.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker was on my radar but due to the lackluster controls of the other portable Metal Gear Solid games it was not at the top of my list. This demo sealed the deal and I will be sure to get this when it hits stores. Even though I could not understand any of the dialog (all in Japanese) I still had a blast with the demo. While playing this I was wowed and it totally made sense that with a product like this Hideo Kojima could totally make announcements about announcements and get away with it.
