It has been announced today via press release that Blazblue will be released in Europe. The pending release is scheduled for some time in Q1 2010. The European release will include exclusive content such as new characters and moves. No word on whether this content will also be released in Japan and the U.S. as downloadable content though I don’t see why they would pass up the opportunity to sell this new content as DLC in the markets that already have had Blazblue in stores. There have been rumors circulating recently about a possible update or sequel to Blazblue and this seems somehow related. It will be interesting to see how this new content makes it to Japan and the U.S.
The European version of the title will be fully localised into English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. It will include additional content – e.g. character strategy guide, music soundtrack from sold-out US Limited Edition. Plus new gameplay content not available anywhere, like new characters and moves.
According to Arcadia the Japanese Arcade gaming magazine, Blazblue is sitting pretty in the number 3 spot, with Street Fighter IV in 7th place, and Tekken 6 holding the number 1 spot as the most popular arcade game.
