According to the Mirrors Edge 2D Beta site, Electronic Arts and Borne Games are partnering up on the full release of this 2D Mirrors Edge project. Accoring to the Borne Games website they are a week or two away from a full launch. The 2D Mirrors Edge game is pretty damn good. It seems like a good fit for not only the PC but maybe even portable gaming system like the DS or PSP. It may even work as DLC on the bigger systems.
