LittleBigPlanet 2 (commonly abbreviated as LBP2) is a puzzle platformer video game, centred around user-generated content.

The game will now be released in North America on 18 January 2011,[1] in mainland Europe on 19 January 2011, in Australia and New Zealand on 20 January 2011 and in the UK and Ireland on 21 January 2011.
Unlike the first game, which was marketed as a platform game, LBP2 is being marketed as a “platform for games”. It is a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed 2008 title LittleBigPlanet and the third game in the series following a PSP version released in 2009. Most of the more than 3 million levels created by users in the first game will carry-over and be playable and editable in LittleBigPlanet 2
So how is it?
I’m in two minds about getting the Collector’s Edition tomorrow. See the thing is it’s exclusive to GAME and they are selling it on their online store for £45, but I wasn’t able to pre-order it because i’ve been broke but luckily I get paid tomorrow. So when I went into the store the other day to ask about the in-store pricing, the guy said he wasn’t too sure but that it would be more expensive than the online price so it would probably be either £50 or £55.
So then I got to thinking, is the UK Collector’s Edition really worth that money? The standard version will be £40 so I didn’t mind spending the extra £5, but when it comes to adding on another £10 or £15 just because it’s bought in-store it becomes quite stupid, especially when you think that the UK CE is pretty much a gimped US version, as our has all the costume packs like the US but we are missing both the bookends and the Sackboy plushie.
I could order the CE online, but it would mean me not getting my hands on it until Monday or Tuesday, and i’m not waiting so i’ll just have to see what i’m up against in the morning.

i think that the euro CE is not worth the money. actually the us one is only worth it if your a huge fan. Most of the items you can buy inidividually in the store(psn or retail) anyway.
The game is really improved over the first in every way.
Better controls, better graphics, better levels, shit…I had A LOT more fun with it than I expected.
Damn I can’t wait, Pizza and LBP 2 and i’m all set for friday night lol.
Oh, was you able to try out any of the online co-op? Just wondering how the netcode is.

I figured out how to play the DLC from the original game on LBP2. Metal Gear DLC stages and everything from the first game still works in this one. I was like FUCK YEAH. When I got it to work. Its very hard to find but its there. Shit is so dope that they let you keep all the DLC you had and play/use it in this game. I had not finished the metal gear levels so I was hype because I sold the first game and I thought there was no way to get to it without rebuying the first game. I will post how on the homepage because I have not seen any site post how to access DLC levels from part 1 in this game. Im going to buy the Marvel level pack as well at some point but so far this game has exceeded all my expectations.
But like Szuter was saying I think instead of spending an extra 20 on the collectors edition it wouold be waaay better to spend that on DLC. You could get the marvel, metal gear and one other big DLC pack for $20 and that would give you like 15 new levels plus marvel, metal gear and other costumes and items. Plus the metal gear levels have their own trophy’s.
Picked up the standard edition today. GAME fucked me over. They told me the other day that the price of the CE in-store is around £50, so I went in today and asked them the price today and they said £45 so I was like great I’ll take it, then the dude was like sorry you only get the CE if you pre-ordered it and we don’t have enough copies in. So I informed him that nobody told me about that when I was enquiring a few days before, and he basically said there was nothing he could do. So I got the strategy guide with the extra money.
Oh well, I still got it and will be on tonight.
