I bought an Ethernet cable today so I’m now on a wired connection, it remains to be seen how it will hold up though coz the cable is 20m long.

20m long should be fine as long as its at least an cat5e cable or better.

Just says RJ45 connectors. Cat 5 on the box. I don’t know what that means. I’ve not tried it out yet but I will be later coz it’s double xp on uncharted

cat5e is what you really want but cat5 should be ok I guess though its outdated. cat5e supports gigabit ethernet and there’s less signal interference aka crosstalk. for long runs you always wanna go cat5e. check monoprice.com

gigiabit ethernet = 0/100/1000RJ45 is just the connector at the end. They are all RJ45 though the actual cables inside are different. Cat5e has more wires inside (for the increased bandwith etc.) than cat5 has and they cost the same.
regardless its gonna be much better than wireless.
