I tried. I really did, but you have to understand Mike Tyson’s Punchout is a game from my most memorable era of gaming. Before school and after school I took turns with my cousin tyring to beat Mr. Sandman, Mike Tyson and company. I planned to rent or “Gamefly” this new iteration of Punch-out!!! but the curiosity just got the best of me. To the store I went and then I played for a few hours and I did enjoy this game.

The obvious is that the graphics are upgraded and yes it does look good. The characters have that added dimensions and the cutscenes do well to brand their personalities. The timing is much different than older Mike Tyson’s Punchout. You will get punished if you try your old timings and this killed me with Don Flamenco since that timing is embedded in my brain. Ten plus years out the window though in all I think this is a great game and fans will not be disappointed. I can see that from a pure nostalgia view that some people would find the game great, but for me, being a person who has never played punch out before, i don’t think i would buy this, just because it seems too repetitive. I’m not stupid, i know it’s a boxing game, i’m talking about the way characters fight. I mean it just looks like Little Mac only has one move, which is a 3 punch move, then he waits, dodges his opponents attack and then does the same shit again.
I’m not sure if thats the only thing he can do or if thats just the way Brook was playing, but on that reason alone it just stops me buying this if i had a Wii coz it looks like a game i would get bored of very quickly.

Just rented this game because of the video. I feel so dirty.

I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands. I just updated the video. Its been a long time since I have done a wii video (sub 720p). LOL

I fixed it so it should look much better now in the correct aspect ratio.

I am at Mr. Sandman. I cannot stand him. I thought Super Macho Man was going to be the World Champion. Look like Nintendo took a page out of the arcade version. I really wish this game had more depth to it. It could of been much more better, but I have been asking for to much from Nintendo lately.

I only have to beat the last one now. Mr. Sand Man. Funny how they put him last and tried to make him like tyson kinda.

They should have put more boxers in this game because you can rent this and run through it. My backup copy is in effect.

I think I am going to buy this game. It had me all wrong, if you complete the game you be surprised.
