Resident Evil 5 Better on Xbox 360? Seems So.

Here we go again. It seems like we have another case of a multiplatform game being better on the Xbox 360 so this should be no surprise. This time it’s Resident Evil 5 and video pros at Digital Foundry have analyzed Resident Evil 5 on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and concluded that the Xbox version rules. I have been debating getting this and now if I do I know I will be buying the Xbox 360 version. Sorry Sony.

Overall, from a technical perspective, Xbox 360 clearly hosts the better game, despite some screen tear. Frame rate is consistently higher, making for a smoother, more responsive experience. The fact that the game is essentially locked at 30fps means that there’s no judder, which you can get in spades on the PS3 version. Clearer textures, more particle effects, full world reflections in the water – in terms of bonus bling, Xbox 360 is in pole position here.

These videos don’t show anything new. It’s the same problem that’s always been there. 360 games don’t port well to the PS3. We’ve always known that. And to be honest the differences in graphics aren’t enough to sway me one way or the other. I hate videos like this because all it does is incite stupid console fanboy wars.

I’m playing the 360 version, but only because that’s the version my friends can get and I won’t play RE5 unless it’s through co-op.

yeah but its not just “graphics” its also frame rate and frame rate does effect the experience. For example watching some games can give you a headache, or make you feel sick or dizzy, or whatever if the frame rate isnt steady or whatever. I dont know man to me if im kicking out 60+ dollars for someshit I like to know that I got the best version and the most for my money.

Yeah frame rate is important, but the issues don’t seem to be that bad. You’re right about getting the most out of your purchase, but the frame rate isn’t one of those things that I consider when getting a game. If it was, I don’t think I’d be playing games on consoles.

Dude…I can’t tell the f*ckin difference. So what systems are people gonna get this game for so I know which version to rent? I was gonna go with PS3 after listening to the Podcast because as Scat stated the controls are familiar. Whats the verdict folks???

obviously you cant tell from the crappy youtube video its more moticible if you watch the youtube HD version…. but anyway if you look at the second video on the eurogamer page and still cant see that its a noticeable difference then you need to get your eyes checked. LOL

Hey douchebag I did watch the HD version. The only sh*t that looked noticeably different to me were the water textures and additional color gradients in the skin tones of the characters on Xbox. I still like favor the PS3 controller for this game. For me it comes down to who will be running the game on what console.

LOL you say “the ONLY thing” then you list 3 things. yeah …right. I get it…

Anyway the ps3 analog sticks are not as good and the game only uses the dpad for selecting weapons LOL so why in the hell would the ps3 controller be a better option?

No I said “The only sh*t” and as we all know sh*t falls in piles.

Its not a matter of whats better for me, its a matter of comfort and every RE game I’ve ever played other than that Wii one I’ve played on a Playstation hence me leaning in that direction.
