PlayStation 3 Called 'Sinking Ship'

An article on CNN by Silicon Valley Analyst Eric Krangel asserts that the PS3 is “flopping” in terms of sales because its too expensive, doesn’t have any must-have titles exclusive to the console, and not enough people care about Blu-Ray. According to recent NPD Group stats the PS3 is the only console with sales that are down from last year.

Not only that but he ends the article with a dart:

“Tell yourself the PS3 has superior graphics if it makes you feel better, but a $400 console with a mediocre game library simply cannot compete against an Xbox 360 priced at $200 in this economy.”

Sinking ship or not….the PS3 is the reason BluRay won the format war…..had the 360 came with an hd dvd drive installed it would be the winner

Yea because when it comes to games, and the analysis of game consoles CNN expertises on games and its consoles are second to none!

Like Jay-Z said the numbers dont lie and if they are the only company selling less this year than last and all the others (wii, 360) are selling MORE than last year thats a very bad sign especially when they were loosing money on every console sold anyway and the others were not

Like I’ve been saying 360 > Wii > PS3.

The system has potential but honestly I’m not sure if it will ever reach it.

I gotta agree with Barz on this one…They made the mistake nintendo made in the mid 90’s. Too cocky, they just assumed they could be average and not pay the price…but they dont have the old classics to fall back on like Nintendo did. Maybe they will have learned from this next generation.

Yes they did. We know what it called. The Nintendo 64. Nintendo lost alot of exclusives that year because of the cost to manufactures the games. Sega and Sony went with CD’s which was cheaper, while Nintendo went with the traditional cartridges with some and internal battery to save your game. Nintendo biggest lost was Sony getting the Square Soft company. That was the same time Final Fantasy VII had came out. It was cheaper to make it on Playstation then Nintendo, even if it was to expand on 3 Disc.

This article hits it right on the head….too many people want more for their money, cheaper system, more and better games….cant beat it…plus with the new updates it makes the XBOX even better
