Are you really a "Gamer" or jus front’n

      Hey to everyone out there in cyberspace(phrase hasn’t been used since ’97), this is my first thread and the topic is gamers. Who are these people? Better yet, what defines a real gamer? I pose that well roundedness is the key…everyone has there favorite genre, but a true gamer should be able to pick up any game and be good at it. If you call yourself a gamer you should be able to play a wide variety of games at a high level. Anyone who has chosen one type or even one game to focus on is sick in the head. There are so many amazing titles that a gamer’s library should be incredibly expansive and varied; from the Halo series to Mario Kart and the myriad of fighting and adventure games available a true gamer should take pride in his/her skills in all areas. The definition of a gamer is true talent and enthusiasm when it comes to a multitude of genre’s…so don’t become a video game snob, thumbing your nose at everything that isn’t Call of Duty…try something new! You could be very suprised at what you find.

        I do not want Trophies, Money or not even a title saying I am number "1". You can have your cheap trophies, paper titles, and dingy headbands.           Well… I agree because Halo 3 was the first – first person shooter I liked and since then I have been playing many more of them. I took a chance by trying something I thought I would hate and was surprised.

          I guess I think a “gamer” is someone who plays games as a hobby or who picks up how to play any particular game fairly quickly. That said I dont like “all types” of games. I hate RPG’s with a passion. Fuck a turn based game. I might try fable 2 though. :D

            when it comes to games i’m an all rounder, i like all genres, if a game is good then a game is good, and it’s not often that a game i like, i am shit at

                  I dunno to be honest brook, i mean some rpg’s can get boring quickly with their turn based combat system but some are really good. Well first you can just towards the final fantasy series, but also i recommend you check out Eternal Sonata.
                  It’s a turn based RPG but the difference is, you can actually move around the battle arena, and can use different types of attacks depending whether you are stood in the light or the shade. Plus the story is great, very emotional and draws you in. Graphics are some of the best i have seen. They look crazy in Full HD.
                  I think you should try the demo at least. Talon will tell you the same thing.

                  Oh and lets not forget Oblivion. That isn’t turn based.

                    I’ll play any type of game and I think I have a favorite game in every genre (even turn based strategy: Advanced Wars). I think thats important to being a gamer. Well roundedness and an open mind to new things.

                      There are different types of gamers.

                      I’m more of a casual gamer, I don’t work or make a lot of money so I usually trade in older games to purchase newer ones.

                      Right now all I have for games is Gears2, Fable2, Dead Space, NBA 2K9, Dark Sector and lots of XBL arcade games, and Final Fantasy IX which is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I’m not much of a collector, I just play the hottest games out. Though if I had the money and the time/effort I would love to get my hands on an N64 and get some of my favorite games (Starfox, Goldeneye, Mario64, StarCraft64, etc). I just haven’t bothered myself with doing all that.

                      I still consider myself a gamer cus I play video games just about every day, and for atleast a few hours whenever I have time.
