So…I got Madden 08

Yes, I got Madden 08 for the Wii yesterday. So far, everything has been pretty cool. I admit I am a little bit addicted at this point, as I try to get in 4 franchise games and 2/4 superstar games done a day.

ONCE this game paused on me. I had just won by a good margin in Franchise mode, and clicked on the end game option. The screen took off the menus as usual but instead of going into a loading screen it just continued a look on the redzone of the other team. Once I thought the game paused before but then it came back into it, so i waited about 2 minutes to make sure, then tried to turn the Wii off with the controller which didn’t work, tried resetting the Wii, which didn’t work, so I was pretty sure it had paused.

I have played two games since then, one Franchise, one superstar, both pause free.

I have had some interesting glitches though. Sometimes during third down, when it comes down to a clutch moment to get the first, it goes into a little movie of the players forming up at the line ready to hut. If you get the game, DO NOT SKIP THIS SCENE. When skipped, it makes the screen blurry. Now its not unbelievably blurry, its just annoying. BUT it only happens on third down situations where that movie happens (Probably once to twice in a game) so there isn’t much to worry about. And I’ve used it as an excuse when I fail to come up with the first, lol.

Sometimes when I hut the ball, the QB throws a pass without you doing anything write when it gets into his hands, totally fucking up your play. It doesn’t happen much, but when it does you can get fucked up. But to counter act this, on My franchise team I have one of the best WR’s in the league, Smith from the Panthers, and because he is the best usually the QB’s main option is him, so he will quick throw to him, and he will usually catch ti and still turn it into a gain.

Last but not least, the best, funniest and fucked up glitch I had. Playing Franchise mode, fourth quarter, 1 minute left I saw that there was going to be a blitz, and since I was going to run it, I decided to audible into a throwing option. I didn’t notice at the time, but my audible options were all defensive, and I went into a cover one. THEN EVERYONE ON MY SIDE OF THE FIELD went to the defensive side (Where the Raiders were already lined up in there defensive formation) and got ready. I had no idea what to do, because this was so fucked up. Then the refs threw they’re flags, and I expected to get offside. NO! They called a random raiders player for jumping to early on the snap, and they got a penalty. Definitely a WTF experience.

But all in all, if you like football and have a Wii, get this game. It’s fun as hell and the running game is much easier with the controllers appose of using button combinations. The modes are fun and the Franchise mode is definietly more fun then ones in the past. Theres really cool opponenet breakdowns that tell you what to lookout for, and local/national newspapers that cover everything around the league. Once I put Burres on the trading block, one of my best WR’s other then Smith (Burres is rated 90) for a 90 or above HB, and the local newspaper stated how fans were upset and no one knew what was going on. Then it got such big rep that the national newspaper picked it up the following week saying Burres and I had gotten into a heated argument, and the sub headline was a quote from Burres saying “They don’t know what they’re doing.” I thought that was pretty cool.

Ummmm, what else to say…GET THIS GAME! Lol, the superstar mode has also gotten a little less annoying with emails. You don’t get as many last time, and you get more important ones from your family and coach.

Get this, I decided to be a HB and i got drafted in the third round by the Colts. Then the coach actually provided me with an explanation to why. He said with the loss of Ederin James, he thought I might be able to get a starting role as HB and he looked forward to how I played.

This was quite cool and I did get the role. Though since the game is realistic I barely get any runs because Peyton is always audibling out of them and going to a pass play. THEN THE MOTHERFUCKER MAKES ME RUN IT WHEN EVEN I CAN TELL A BLITZ IS COMING! LMAO. I’m definitely not re-signing with the Colts even though we are probably going to win the superbowl and in my first ever playoff game I scored 2 playoffs.
